COMMUNITY RELATIONS & SOCIAL IMPACT

Orient recognizes its corporate social responsibility and has a proven track record of community development initiatives across its areas of operation. We strongly believe in actively engaging with the communities for the advancement of their social well-being.

  • Education: Supporting the running costs of schools in villages near our development and production (D&PL) areas, helping build classrooms and washrooms, providing scholarships, and supporting vocational and community centres.
  • Health: Running free eye and medical camps (including at Dhoke Tarrap and Ratana); supporting the running costs of six health clinics delivered with NGO partners JORDAN and CDO; and operating five community health centres in our lease areas in partnership with NGO JORDAN. A four-day free medical camp at Dhurnal and Ratana provided consultations and free medicine to around 790 people.
  • Water & Sanitation: Installing hand pumps; rehabilitating public water ponds at Dhoke Rehan, Dhoke Sarr and Dhoke Kharnial; constructing protective walls near R-2; providing a solar tube-well for nearby villages; delivering a water project at Tanween village (R-3); and constructing water-filtration units in the Dadu area.
  • Environmental: Plantation activity along the ZGP bank to help reinforce the Chandan canal bank, as part of our wider environmental commitment.
  • Women Empowerment: Orient’s recruitment increasingly focuses on hiring women, creating equal employment opportunities and supporting their professional growth.
