ORIENT PETROLEUM, the successor of Occidental of Pakistan Inc., is an exploration and production company operating in Pakistan since 1979. In 1995, Mr. Sadurddin Hashwani acquired Orient Petroleum, and the company has continued to improve its footprint by acquiring new assets through divestment, mergers, farm-ins, and farm-outs with local and international companies. In 2015 Company acquire all stocks of BHP Billiton (Pakistan) Limited, its Zamzama field is one of the prominent Gas Field of Pakistan which carries highest HSE standards and Gas Plant Operations.
Company made significant contribution in Pakistan’s energy sector by discovering the country’s largest oil reserve within just five years of commencing E&P operations. Dhurnal oil field in the Potwar Basin, Punjab, had over 150 million barrels of oil in place and its peak production was more than 22,000 barrels of oil per day. With a focus on expanding its E&P operations, Orient Petroleum has implemented various initiatives and innovations successfully addressing Pakistan’s sustainable energy requirements.
