Operated Fields

Ratana Field

Ratana field is located in Northern Punjab, approximately 100 KMs South-West of Islamabad city. The field was discovered in 1992. Commercial production from the field commenced in July 1993. Orient Petroleum Inc. (OPI) is the operator with 65.91% working interest along with other JV partners namely; OGDCL (25%), POL (4.545%), and AOC (4.545%).

To date, four wells with several side-tracks have been drilled which identified five proven reservoirs with over 2,500 feet of hydrocarbon column. The field has production facilities including Amine Sweetening Plant (20 MMSCFD), Dehydration Unit (30 MMSCFD), HP Separators, and storage tanks etc. The operator acquired new wide azimuth 3D seismic data which resulted in identifying new drillable prospects. The operator is currently drilling a new well (Ratana-5) with a planned TD of 5,675 meters. OPI continues building Ratana field into a legacy asset that is expected to yield substantial production for years to come. Cumulative production from the field till March 2021 is ~ 68.1 BSCF gas, ~ 3.1 MMSTB of condensate and 53.0 MMT LPG.

Zamzama Field

Zamzama gas field is located in Sindh province, approximately 10 KMs West of Dadu city. The field was discovered in 1998. Commercial production from the field began in 2001. Orient Petroleum Pty Ltd. (OPPL) is the operator with 38.5% working interest along with other JV partners namely; GHPL (25%), Eni (17.75%), Alhaj (9.375%), and KUFPEC (9.375%).

So far, 13 wells have been drilled on the field. The field has the state-of-the-art surface facilities with capacity over 500 MMSCFD. During 2009, the field produced highest production of ~600 MMSCFD gas. The operator is focused on lowering costs, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and optimizing asset performance. Additionally, based on outcome of recent studies, the operator is planning to drill more wells to enhance production in existing Khadro reservoir and to exploit deeper potential in Lower Goru as well as Chiltan formations. Cumulative production from the field till March 2021 is ~ 1.72 TCF gas and ~ 9.85 MMBBL condensate.

Dhurnal Field

Dhurnal field is located in Northern Punjab, approximately 60 KMs South-West of Islamabad city. The Field was discovered in 1984 and was put on commercial production within about a month of its discovery. Orient Petroleum Inc. (OPI) is the operator with 70% working interest along with other JV partners which include OGDCL (20%), POL (5%) and AOC (5%).

To date, seven wells are drilled on the field including two wells which are converted to water injectors. This was Pakistan’s first water injection project implemented in 1987-88 with peak field production of ~20,000 STB/D oil. The production facilities consist of 30.0 MMSCFD capacity gas dehydration units, HP & LP separators, with de-salters, coolers/heat exchangers and storage tanks. Cumulative production from the field till March 2021 is ~ 51 MMBBL oil and ~ 132 BCF gas.

Bhangali Field

Bhangali field is located in Northern Punjab, approximately 60 KMs South-West of Islamabad city. The field was discovered in 1989 and put on commercial production during October 1989. Orient Petroleum Inc. (OPI) is the operator with 40% working interest along with other JV partners namely; OGDCL (50%), POL (7%), and AOC (3%).

Since discovery, a total of three wells have been drilled on the field. In 2011, OPI acquired 119 Sq.Km of 3D seismic which identified an up-dip potential. The operator is willing to drill a well to un-tap this potential. Production facilities consist of HP Separator, Coolers/heat Exchangers and storage units. Cumulative production from the field till March 2021 is ~ 3.7 MMBBL oil and ~ 9 BSCF gas.
